The University of King’s College Teachers Association has one more day of conciliation talks, and depending on the outcome, some campus staff members could go on strike.

Negotiations have been ongoing with the university since January, with the two sides meeting once again on Tuesday.

According to a release, the UKCTA demands include three central goals, including fair compensation, a cap on tutorial sizes, and to remove the limit on contract renewability.

In a statement, King’s vice president Tim Currie says the university has a responsibility to make decisions that are fair and financially sustainable, and it is preparing for all scenarios with a focus on helping students finish the school year.

According to the UKCTA, if the faculty ends up in a strike position, the walkout will begin at noon on April 9 to ensure the last two days of classes are not interrupted.

The King’s College Student Union plans to show their solidarity with campus staff members by organizing a rally at King’s quad on Tuesday.

The rally is expected to commence at 10 a.m.
