Schools
All classes within Halifax Regional Centre for Education have been cancelled for Monday along with classes in South Shore, Tri County, Chignecto Centre, Strait Regional, Cape Breton-Victoria, Dalhousie University, SMU, Atlantic School of Theology, MSVU, CSAP North South and Metro and all NSCC campuses are closed.
Highways
Police have the 118 Highway outbound closed, just past exit 13, due to several large trucks blocking the highway due to inclement weather.
The 118 Highway outbound towards Fall River and the Airport, is expected to be closed for an extended period of time. Traffic is being diverted to the 107 Highway toward Waverley Road.
Halifax Transit
Depending on conditions, Halifax Transit buses may be on snow routes or detours
Solid Waste
Due to the overnight weather, solid waste collection scheduled for today, Monday, Jan. 19 has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24. Please ensure any material currently curbside is removed to allow for snow clearing operations.
Parks & Recreation
The Halifax Public Gardens will be closed.
Many municipal recreation facilities are delaying opening on Monday. A decision will be made at 10 a.m. (with potential re-opening at noon) regarding whether rentals, facilities and programming activities will continue as scheduled.

Halifax Stanfield International Airport
A number of delays and cancellations have been reported at Halifax Stanfield airport Monday morning. Passengers should check with their airlines before heading out.
Government
Provincial government offices in Cape Breton Regional Municipality, Antigonish, Guysborough, Richmond, Victoria and Inverness counties will open at 11 a.m. today, because of weather conditions.
All other provincial offices will keep regular hours unless there is a local issue such as a power outage. Nova Scotians planning to visit an office are advised to check that it is open before leaving home.
Decisions regarding court operations are made on a case-by-case basis with the judiciary. People with matters before the court should check with their lawyer or contact the courthouse to confirm the status of their matter.
Emergency Management Coordination Centre
The municipality partially activated its Emergency Management Coordination Centre Sunday evening. The EMCC is staffed by employees from across the organization and provides a central place to coordinate emergency management efforts.
