There is just a little over a week left to visit the Naval Museum of Halifax before it shuts down temporarily.

The armed forces says the museum will be closing for two years to accommodate plans to renovate Admiralty House, which is home to the museum.

The CAF is reassuring the public that the museum will reopen to the public after renovations are complete, and says it will be making significant investments into new core exhibitions.

The renovations will last from April 7 until the spring of 2028.

The last day the Naval Museum will be open to the public will be Thursday, April 2.

According to Parks Canada, Admiralty House is a Classified Federal Heritage Building “because of its historical associations, and its architectural and environmental values.”

It served as a Naval Hospital during the First World War before being damaged in the Halifax Explosion in December 1917.
