Halifax Harbour Bridges (HHB) says there’s another closure scheduled for the MacKay Bridge this weekend.
According to HHB, the closure is to complete what it calls critical maintenance work.
The construction will begin on Friday at 8 p.m. and will stop by Monday at 5:30 a.m.
People who still need to cross the harbour can use the Macdonald Bridge, which will remain open.
HHB says that, with the exception of passenger buses, vehicles weighing more than 3,200 kilograms are not permitted to cross the Macdonald Bridge.
Cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use the active transportation lanes on the Macdonald.
HHB is urging drivers to allow extra time to reach their destinations, plan ahead, consider alternate routes and use public transit where possible.
