The RCMP is advising people in the Halifax area of a high-risk offender who is believed to be in the Halifax Regional Municipality and is being sought by police.
In a media release, the Mounties say Patrick Celestine Hyslop, 45, has multiple criminal convictions for sexual offences, including sexual assault and sexual interference involving a youth.
The man is currently wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant for failing to comply with release conditions, police say.
“This information is provided to alert members of the public of his presence in the community and to aid in Hyslop’s arrest,” police wrote. “It is not intended to encourage any form of vigilante activity or other unreasonable conduct.”
The RCMP says it is believed Hyslop is in the Halifax area, but he has ties to other parts of Nova Scotia as well as Manitoba.
Anyone who sees Hyslop or has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
