Diesel prices have undergone an unplanned increase in Nova Scotia on Wednesday.
The Nova Scotia Energy Board (NSEB) invoked its interrupter clause at midnight to adjust the price of diesel oil.
In Halifax, the minimum price for diesel went up more than five cents to 187.1 cents per litre.
“This change is necessary due to significant shifts in the market price of diesel oil,” a statement from the board reads.
Gasoline prices did not change in the unscheduled decision by the NSEB. As a result, the price of regular self-serve gasoline remains at 136.2 cents per litre in Halifax.
Fuel prices are typically adjusted on Fridays in Nova Scotia.
