A boil water advisory remains in place on Monday afternoon after a water main break in the area of Waverley Road on Saturday.
As of Monday, the municipality says Halifax Water has repaired the broken main and service has been restored to the area.
Still, residents living in areas including Waverley Road, Spider Lake, Montague Road, Keystone Village, Port Wallace, Montebello, Craigwood Estates and Avenue du Portage should continue boil their water as a precaution.

The advisory includes:
- Customers who lost all water should boil water before use.
- Customers with discoloured water should run taps until the water is clear; boiling is not required.
- Customers with normal or low pressure do not need to take any action.
- If unsure, boil water as a precaution.
Halifax Water recommends boiling water for at least one minute before using water for:
- Drinking
- Preparing infant formula
- Making ice cubes or juices
- Washing fruits or vegetables
- Cooking
- Brushing teeth
- Any other activity requiring human consumption
The municipality says crews will be out on Monday and Tuesday repairing the road where the water main break happened, potentially leading to some delays for drivers on Waverley Road.
A comfort centre opened on the weekend has now closed, but HRM says residents in need of showers, washrooms or drinking water can head to local recreation centres during regular business hours.
